Samsung M series has been quite a hit in the Indian market and has been somewhat capable of giving a tough time to the Mi midrange models. All the models, M10, M20 and M30 opened up to some rave reviews and positive feedback. The M series has registered healthy growth in the sales, with the sales soaring over 4 million. Hence, we can say that Samsung M series has been a definite success amongst the Indian consumers. Especially, it is performing in that segment which has been ruled by Mi till now, and with the current sales figures, Samsung M series model is a giving a tough competition to Mi. Buoyed by this performance, Samsung is already ready with the next launch of the M Series, that is M40. M40 is going to be more premium with a bit more pricey, in comparison to the other M series phones, that were launched till now.
M40 is going to be the most premium model of the M series. The M40 is going to have a 6.3-inch screen, which will be a Super AMOLED display with full HD (FHD) resolution. Undoubtedly, it is a large screen, with a superior display. The image is going to be lively with the beautiful resolution, as it comes with a Super AMOLED display. The aspect ration will be 19:5:9. The aspect ratio is perfect for watching a high definition video or playing an action-packed game. Now let’s talk about the most important part of the design and display, which most of the users want to know today. That is whether the phone is with a bezel or it’s has got a bezel display? The phone has got a punch hole display, which is an absolute bezel-less display. Most of the premium phones of the modern era are bezelless, and Samsung it seems never wanted to compromise on this. As a result, M40 will be launched with a bezelless display. The official model number for this phone is SM-M405F. This information is important if you want to check the stats as well as the performance of the phone on Geekbench. It has got Snapdragon 675 chipset, which is known for good performance if not a superior one. With 6GB RAM and Android Pie, we can expect the phone to handle mid-range games and the average level of multitasking. For optimum graphics performance, the phone will have Adreno 612 as a GPU. Adreno 612 has already proven itself as effective in the other models of M series. M40 will have an internal memory of 128 GB, that can be extended up to 256 GB through SD card. The good point is, the phone supports USB OTG. Clearly, the storage is mammoth, and one can easily manage even without expanding the memory. From the rumors, we heard that the phone will be launched in two distinct colors, that is black and blue.
The camera configuration of this phone is really powerful, and that holds true for both the front as well as the rear camera. This was expected, Samsung never disappoints when it comes to the camera, except for some of the budget models. M40 has got triple camera setup at the rear, with 16 MP + 5 MP + 5 MP. More details are awaited on the types of the lens which will be part of the camera. But we are sure that out of three, one will be a telephoto lens and others will be wide angle lens. We need to wait for some more time for the final specifications, a few things are still undisclosed. While the front camera is going to be a perfect selfie camera, with 16 MP front camera. There is a LED flash available for the rear camera, and the rear camera supports HD recording. But, the most disappointing fact is, M40 doesn’t offer 4K video recording. We do expect 4K video recording at this price range. Some of the other features which the camera includes are Digital Zoom, Auto Flash, Face detection and Touch to focus. There is also exposure compensation and ISO control. The camera configuration, both front, and rear look quite good on paper. But we have to wait for the sample images in order to deliver the final verdict.
It is a dual sim phone, and each of the slots is capable of supporting one 4G Nano Sim. This means that you can use two 4G services at the same time. In terms of connectivity, M40 has Bluetooth ( Version 5.0), 4G, GPS, Wi-Fi and lastly NFC. This phone will be equipped with a 5000mAH battery, that is going to be very powerful and one of the strong points of this phone. The battery will be completely concealed, and won’t be user replaceable. It will also have fast charging. There is a 3.5 mm audio port, and as we expected there is no FM radio. It has got a fingerprint sensor as well, but it’s not an onscreen sensor rather it is located at the rear. Some of the other sensors, it includes are Light sensor, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer. This phone is all set to hit the Indian market on the 11th of June, and Amazon is going to be its online partner. Amazon has already started rolling out pre-registration invites for Samsung M40. No doubt Samsung is betting big on this phone. From the initial specifications, the phone seems to be quite good at this price point, even though there are some definite shortcomings.
